Outlines

The Outlines milestone in Resonate streamlines the process of approving a creator’s content vision. This lets Linqia work with you to review, make edits, and finalize the creative outline before content creation begins. By reviewing outlines against the brief, we ensure creators have clear, approved guidelines, leading to content that consistently meets expectations.

Getting started

1. Log into Resonate—our technology platform

You will have received an email invite to set up an account in Resonate. Use your Resonate email & password to log in.

2. Select your campaign

Click Campaigns in the top navigation then select the corresponding campaign.

Once the campaign is selected, click Outlines in the campaign’s top navigation.

3. View your role & workflow status

Your Role in your step is found in the top right corner of the page. Roles available are:

  1. Approver (max 1 per step): Communicates final decisions to Linqia on behalf of all Reviewers in a step.
  2. Reviewer(s): Can provide feedback and is expected to submit their review.
  3. Spectator(s): Has visibility into the process but is not expected to provide feedback.

Click Workflow Status to view the milestone’s status, all active and inactive review steps, and all individual’s roles. You can continue reviewing if any outline is active in your step.

Start reviewing

Check where the outlines are in the status menu on the left hand side of the screen.

  1. In Review: Surfaces any outlines that need your or anyone in your step’s review.
  2. Pending: Any outlines that your step has already reviewed—now these outlines are either with Linqia or another step.
  3. Finalized: Shows the approved &  finalized versions of all outlines (i.e., the outlines that creators will use to guide content creation).

Review outlines

All team members in your step can simultaneously review outlines in the In Review folder. Each deliverable is divided into individual outline cards, which include the creator's handle, post type, and persona (if assigned in the brief). The persona should align with the specific sections relevant to them in the brief. Ensure each outline is reviewed against the finalized brief.

Click on a card to view any feedback that may have already been left by others in your step.

Tip: Use the sort functionality to group outlines by creator and order of posts.

Provide feedback

Follow these steps to submit your feedback or request changes. Creators won’t see your feedback directly—Linqia will handle sharing it with the creators on your behalf!

  1. Highlight the text you want to comment on. Releasing your mouse will show the option to Comment or Suggest a Replacement.
  2. Clicking Comment allows you to provide feedback in a text box.
  3. Clicking Suggest a Replacement allows you to swap words or phrases after Linqia reviews.
  4. Click Post to confirm and save your feedback. Remember, members in your step will have visibility to your feedback once saved!
  5. To delete your feedback, click the three dots in the upper-right corner of the comment box.

Please note: Feedback left in a workflow step is only visible to members in that step. This gives you the ability to engage in dialogue within your step. The Approver in your step must confirm or ignore feedback, ensuring consensus before moving to the next step.

Reviewers submitting review

If your role is a Reviewer, follow these steps to submit your review:

  1. Complete your review for each outline, leaving feedback if necessary.
  2. Click the blue Submit Review button on the bottom right of the outline. This lets other members in your step know that you have concluded your review.

The Approver in your step can either confirm or ignore any feedback left by reviewers. If feedback is confirmed, they will decide whether the outline should be sent back for further review or approved with the feedback applied. If all feedback is ignored and no open feedback remains, the Approver will approve the outline as is.

Approver submitting review

If your role is the Approver, it's best practice to wait for all Reviewers to submit their reviews before clicking Submit Review. This ensures you can review all feedback and make informed decisions. Clicking Submit Review will either move the outline to the next step or return it to Linqia with clear directions.

Review feedback

  1. Comments from other members in your step will appear in the right-hand margin under Open Feedback.
  2. Comments resolved by Linqia are found in All Feedback.
  3. As the Approver, you must click Confirm or Ignore on each comment from Reviewers, providing final feedback direction to Linqia.

Submit your review

After addressing feedback, click Submit Review on each card.

You’ll then choose one of the following options if there’s still open feedback:

  • Approved, Pending Edits
  • Revise & Resubmit

These options determine whether you want the outline to return to your step for further review or be considered approved and moved forward.

If there is no open feedback, confirm that the outline is Approved. This will either route it to the next step or, if you’re in the final step, move it to the Finalized folder, where it will be visible to both Linqia and the creator.

Success, you’re finished!

Once outlines have moved through each step, Linqia will review any open feedback and incorporate changes as needed before finalizing. Once Finalized, the approved outlines will be visible to creators to guide them during content creation, and to you when reviewing content.

FAQs

Q: Will I be able to see outlines when I’m reviewing content?

A: Yes! Each approved outline is accessible when you click the 3 dots on a content card and click View Requirements. The outline will be displayed in the right-hand margin, allowing you to easily review it alongside the content.

Q: Why can’t I see comments from members in my step?

A: Click into each “card” to reveal any feedback that was left by members in your step. If you're still unable to see comments, members in your step may not have saved their feedback.

Q: Why can’t I leave feedback?

A: Make sure it is ready for your review by double checking that the materials are in your “step” by clicking Workflow Status.

Q: Can creators see my feedback directly?

A: No, creators cannot see your feedback directly. Linqia manages communication with the creators and will share feedback with them on your behalf after reviewing and finalizing it.
